On Thursday 22 February at the Spanish Embassy in Canberra, Phenomics Australia representatives were invited to attend the 30th edition of the Science Diplomatic Club a distinguished event uniting representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Canberra and institutions invested in fostering international scientific policies and collaborations.
These networking gatherings, periodically organized by select European embassies, serve as catalysts for strengthening ties among diplomats, researchers, and industry stakeholders alongside key Australian Government agencies such as the Department of Health, ARC, and the Department of Industry.
Dr. Marina Trigueros, Phenomics Australia’s Communications and Outreach Coordinator, member of the Association of Spanish Researchers in Australia Pacific (SRAP), and former SRAP Board member and representative in Canberra, received an esteemed invitation to participate.
Her Excellency Ms. Alicia Moral Revilla, Ambassador of Spain, delivered an inaugural address expressing profound appreciation for the invaluable contributions of female scientists from Spain engaged in Australia, including Dr. Sofia Samper Carro (ANU) and Dr. Blanca Gallego (UNSW), with both delivering compelling presentations during the event.
His Excellency Mr. Gabriele Visentin, EU Ambassador to Australia, underscored the pivotal role of scientific collaboration between Australia and the European Union, further emphasizing the enduring significance of such partnerships.
