Phenomics Australia Histopathology and Digital Slide Service is delighted to announce the arrival of the new P480 Slide Scanner.
Based at the Department of Anatomy and Physiology hosted by the University of Melbourne, this node provides necropsy and histopathology services to all biomedical researchers across Australia for the evaluation and phenotyping of modified, treated or genetically engineered mice at all developmental stages.
Our service provides:
- Specialist comparative histopathology and mouse pathology services
- Quality controlled experimental mouse necropsy and full-body histopathology
- Mouse neonate and embryo evaluations
- Semiquantitative tissue scoring and grading including Pathology commentary
- Access to experienced Veterinary and Medical Pathologists
- Digital slide scanning
- Secure online access to all digitised images and reports
The Pannoramic 480 Scanner will greatly expand our capabilities with increased slide loading capacity and increased scanning speed and throughput. The 480-slide capacity robotised loader utilises world class Brightfield scanning technology making it one of the best technologies for histopathology available.
Service Manager, Tina Cardamone has praised the announcement, saying “This system easily integrates with the current user-friendly online slide management system-SlideCenter. It has a faster scanning capacity and a continuous operating system which means slides can be added without staff waiting for programs to finish. We can process slides faster and reduce delays. The Pannoramic P480 is fitted with an additional high-power objective that is ideal for cytology, something that our current scanners struggle with.”
The Pannoramic P480 will be available from August 2024, generating faster and better-quality results.
