Phenomics Australia Communications team, Dr Marina Trigueros and Ms Bridget Elliott-Rudder, were pleased to attend the Australian Science Communicators (ASC) National Conference 2026, held in Brisbane from 21–23 September 2026, joining science communicators, researchers and professionals from across Australia.
The event was proudly sponsored by Research Infrastructures Connected, highlighting the important role of Australia’s national research infrastructure in supporting research and innovation.
The conference explored the evolving landscape of science communication, with sessions covering research impact, communicating evidence in the digital age, science misinformation, AI and digital tools, public attitudes towards science, and communicating research for impact.
On Day 2, a key highlight was the keynote “Research Ecosystem and Infrastructure”, which explored how NCRIS-supported infrastructure and expertise enable Australian research, and why communicating their value and impact matters. This was particularly relevant to Phenomics Australia and the broader NCRIS community, reinforcing the importance of effectively communicating the contribution of research infrastructure to Australian science and innovation.
On Day 3, we particularly enjoyed the NCRIS Communications Panel, which brought together communications professionals from Australia’s National Research Infrastructure community to share insights and experiences around communicating the value and impact of research infrastructure.
It was a valuable opportunity to connect with colleagues, share ideas and reflect on how we can continue to communicate the impact of Australian research and the role of Phenomics Australia in advancing biomedical discovery and health.
