Phenomics Australia Communications team, Dr Marina Trigueros and Ms Bridget Elliott-Rudder, were delighted to reconnect face-to-face with colleagues at the NCRIS Communications Forum, held in Melbourne on the 11th of November.
Across the day, we explored shared challenges, opportunities, expectations, and plans, generating a wealth of ideas for professional development and future collaboration. These important conversations not only strengthened existing relationships but also helped to advance new collaborative initiatives that will support even more unified and impactful communication across the NCRIS community.
We extend our sincere thanks to all invited speakers and presenters:
- Jessica Brosnan, NCRIS Director at the Department of Education
- Annette Wittmann, COO of EMBL Australia,
- Tim Rawling (WCLP), CEO of AuScope,
- James Murray, Director of external engagement and partnerships at Astronomy Australia Limited,
- Science in Public team,
- Phil Dooley, President of Australian Science Communicators
The team also had the privilege of touring the HIA Pelletron accelerator facility. We thank David Jamieson and the School of Physics students for the excellent tour.
We also extend our appreciation to the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) for sponsoring the event.
That same week, our Communications team also participated in the Australian Science Communicators Conference, which was likewise held in Melbourne. This provided an additional opportunity to engage with Australia’s science communication community, exchange insights, and strengthen connections across national networks.
