Support the ANU Bioinformatics Consultancy (ABC) working as a Phenogenomics Data Scientist. Apply here
About the Roles
Two exciting new Data Scientist roles are now available in the ANU Bioinformatics Consultancy (ABC), based at The John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR). This role will especially interest applicants with a strong background in Computer Science/Engineering but who want to build a career in science, particularly Health/Life Sciences. These are 1-year, full time roles with the possibility of extension, supporting two exciting projects in Human Health and Genomics (the Phenomics Translational Initiative, and ARDC Cross-NCRIS “Data Assets for Genomic Medicine”).
The Phenomics Australia and Bioplatforms Australia project “Enhanced data assets for Genomic Medicine”
The Phenomics Australia and Bioplatforms Australia project “Enhanced data assets for Genomic Medicine” (Biomedical Data Asset) is a joint initiative by ANU and Monash University teams to meet the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) call for bringing together currently disjoint data collections under a common interface based upon FAIR data principles. It seeks to combine existing human clinical genomic data with mouse phenogenomic data to leverage animal models of disease.

The Phenomics Translation Initiative (PTI)
The Phenomics Translation Initiative (PTI) has been established to transform phenomics capability within Australia; to drive development of new disease models, novel diagnostics and provide better treatment options for people with diseases that are currently chronic, debilitating and incurable. This work will include generation of targeted mouse disease models, which will be characterised with new techniques to assess genetic pathogenesis. https://jcsmr.anu.edu.au/research/centres/pti
